The author deals with formation and institutionalization of the project "Landscape of the Upper Lusatian Half-timbered Houses". She analyzes the discursive practice of the local entrepreneurs who realize and materialize the project; and illustrates the power implications of the studied representation. The paper argues that the "region" is constructed especially through selective interpretations of the history of the area and through the process of meaning-ascribing to the half-timbered houses themselves. The presence of this „region“ in the symbolic territorial organization of the area is based on the idea of "perception" and "evidence". Simultaneously the idea of European integration and regionalism is used to support the analyzed representation. The interest of another regional actor (Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa) to partake in this representation demonstrates the power character of respective representation | |
