This study deals with the new stage of the Prague Society activities, which has associated the Czech intelligence from Silesia since the early 20th century, first under the name Slezan, later Silesian National Unity and since 1939 the Silesian Cultural Institute. The study outlines the circumstances which in spring 1945 brought changes in the management of the Prague Society and the arrival of new personalities who updated the supportive programme of the Silesian Cultural Institute under the new polit ical conditions (Ladislav Vašek, Otakar Dymer, Oldřich Zíka, Jaroslav Volenec, etc.). The study also outlines the individual structures of the association, changes in management and statutes, establishment of working committees.
